7
Additional recommended products
Care products: waterproof spray or wash-in waterproof liquid to restore the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise the garment's performance throughout its lifespan.
8
Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the higher the waterproof rating of the fabric. A component with a 5000 mm waterproof rating, i.e. it can withstand the pressure of the 5000 mm column of water. This is also equivalent to 5000 Schmerbers.
9
Waterproofing of the garment
This garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
10
Component breathability
To assess the breathability of the fabric, the evaporative resistance, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard), is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, hence the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
11
Component with a coating or membrane
The coating is like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane is a kind of very fine plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof and maintains its breathability. It has the advantage of being more flexible, lightweight, durable and often more breathable than the coating.
12
Water repellent property of the component
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to repel water so that it runs off its surface. This prevents the fabric from absorbing water and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. A fabric is made water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (with every 3 washes). All the Quechua overtrousers have received a water-repellent treatment.
13
A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A score ranging from A to E is provided so that you can easily identify the more eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. Wet weather jacket

Lightweight but still keeps you cool/warm

It hasnt rained since I got it, but I ran it under tap water for 10 secs, no water got through! Also has a mesh layer inside which I appreciate (more breathable and less sticky in warm climates). Good, affordable and stylish rain jacket that does the job. Pockets are quite small though wish they were bigger!

Bought this jacket to keep off the wind and rain whilst canoeing. It was brilliant! Kept me warm and dry and was not too bulky. Great cross over sports wear from Decathlon. The jacket of the material was able to take full colour printing without effecting the waterproofness of the jacket. A detachable hood is a bonus
